La Extensión Cooperativa de Carolina del Norte se asocia con las comunidades para ofrecer educación y tecnología que enriquecen la vida de los habitantes, la tierra y la economía de Carolina del Norte.
Who we are
Cooperative Extension conducts programming in: Agriculture, Family/Consumer Sciences and 4-H. Since 1916 The North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service has been trying to improve the quality of life for the people of Polk County. Whether it is by:
- answering your questions about lawns and gardens
- helping farmers make their farms more profitable
- offering health and nutrition workshops
- or teaching young people woodworking skills
Cooperative Extension is open to everyone, and strives to provide solutions by empowering you with research-based, unbiased information. If you ever have an issue that arises within our areas of focus, please do not hesitate to call our office. Many of our clients are amazed what we can do, and most help is even free of charge!
Cooperative Extension is an integral part of the land-grant university system which offers a threefold program of resident instruction, research and outreach. Extension’s outreach can be found in all 100 counties and with the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians in North Carolina. We are county agents, professors, scientists and volunteers working together to help make agriculture profitable and to assist communities across the state to remain viable.
