Polk County Senior Games and SilverArts 2023

General Information

North Carolina Senior Games began in 1983 with a vision to create a year-round health promotion and wellness education program for adults 55 years of age and better (the age is now 50+). Now there are 52 local Senior Games locations, serving all 100 counties in North Carolina!

Polk County Senior Games and SilverArts is organized by Polk County Senior Services and is sanctioned by North Carolina Senior Games. Participants who qualify in their Local Games are invited to participate in State Finals in the fall. Each 2 years, State Finals qualifiers get the opportunity to represent North Carolina at National Senior Games.

Eligibility Requirements

In order to participate in Polk County Senior Games, one must be 50 years of age or better. Age categories for athletic events are determined by the participant’s age on December 31, 2021. Men and Women compete in separate categories in the following 5-year increments: 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95-99, 100+

**While Polk County accepts participants from out-of-state, on a case-by-case basis, in order to participate in State Finals, participants must reside in North Carolina.
